Sook-Ja Lee is a textile specialist and graduate of the College of Engineering at Hanyang University, with extensive experience in textiles and specialty fibers dating back to the early development of Korea’s textile industry.

She began her professional career with Taepyeong Textile, a company within the Taepyeong Group, gaining experience during a period of rapid growth and transformation in Korea’s textile industry. She was also involved with Taepyeong Specialty Textile during the early development of Korea’s specialty-textile industry, gaining practical experience related to specialty textile materials, products, and manufacturing processes.

At the time, Korea was developing new capabilities in textile materials and specialty fibers, with new production technologies and manufacturing systems being introduced and established. Working during this formative period gave her firsthand experience with textile materials, production processes, product quality, and the practical considerations involved in bringing textile materials into finished products.

As part of her professional development, she undertook training at the DIM manufacturing facility in Autun, France, gaining firsthand exposure to European textile manufacturing practices, production processes, and factory-based quality inspection. This international experience broadened her understanding of textile production, product quality, and manufacturing standards beyond the Korean market.

Over the course of her career, she developed extensive practical knowledge of textile materials, manufacturing processes, inspection, and product quality. Her experience is grounded in an understanding of how textile materials move from development and production through inspection and quality evaluation to their application in finished products.

Her professional experience spans an important period in the evolution of Korea’s textile industry, when Korean manufacturers were developing new material capabilities, expanding production expertise, and engaging with international technologies and manufacturing practices. Her early experience in specialty textiles, combined with her international exposure at DIM in France, provides a distinctive perspective on the development and application of textile materials and products.

At RENO•VOLT, she serves as a Textile & Product Advisor, providing specialized insight based on her longstanding experience in specialty textiles and textile manufacturing. She advises on textile materials, product development, material selection, manufacturing considerations, quality, and practical application.

Drawing on decades of experience in specialty textiles and international textile manufacturing, she contributes practical knowledge and an experienced material perspective to RENO•VOLT’s exploration of new technologies, sustainable materials, and innovative future-oriented products.
